Fresh Aloe vera leaves should be selected according to the required consistency. Clean them thoroughly with water to remove dirt and dust. Since we’re preparing it ourselves, cleanliness is crucial especially if we plan to store it for a long period of time.

Cutting the leaves

Extracting the Gel

Take out the gel from the leaves using a spoon. Don’t use your hands, as maintaining hygiene is crucial. So, use a clean spoon and scoop out the gel completely from the leaves.

Blending

Once the gel is extracted completely from the leaves, keep it aside. Take a mixer jar, pour the gel into it and blend it smoothly to get a jelly-like mixture. ( Make sure not to add any water to it ).

Take a lemon, cut it into two halves and squeeze the juice into the aloe vera gel. Lemon juice increases the shelf life of the aloe vera gel and helps to preserve it for few more days ( Don’t forget to remove seeds from the lemon ). Combine aloe vera gel and lemon juice properly together

Transferring to a bottle

Choose a convenient bottle or jar and then transfer the aloe vera gel mixture into it. ( Make sure to clean the container properly before adding the gel into it ).
